How to Do a Graffiti Wall for Review
Using these grafitti walls for review before a examination is one of my favorite review activities because it and then quick and easy to do ... and my students LOVE it. It simply requires a few pieces of chart newspaper and markers, and nosotros accomplished everything yous see in the pic in less than 10 minutes!!! Truly.
For this collaborative activity, I started out by writing an open-concluded question at the height of each piece of chart paper - related to the main learning goals for the unit of measurement. I then broke the grade into groups - this time we had 4 questions, so in my grade of 25, there were 6 people per group (and one with 7). From in that location, arm everyone with a marking, and tell them they take 2 minutes to write downward EVERYTHING they can retrieve of about the question or topic at the top of the paper. Remind them that this is a graffiti wall, so they can write in any direction, in any colour, and to include pictures, numbers and words. Remind them that they need to be fast, besides - they will only accept 2 minutes at each chart paper.
Rotate groups every ii minutes - only giving seconds in between each rotation. With four rotations, we completed this activity in eight minutes. Just wait at all that data in only 8 minutes.
This makes a fabulous review activeness because y'all can embrace every main concept before a summative task or test. I have a clothesline hung in my classroom, and I hang these papers from the clothesline after they are completed. It is such a wonderful display of educatee learning - and the students are always amazed at all the information they were able to call up.
